Job Summary:

As a Build/Maintenance Field Technician at WeLink, you'll play a crucial role in both installing new infrastructure and maintaining our existing network. This dynamic position merges the responsibilities of our Maintenance Technician and Field Installation Technician roles. You'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and quality of our network installations and maintenance, directly contributing to our mission of providing top-notch service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Skills Development:

  • Master the operation and application of various tools, including fiber testers, light pens, cleaning tools, and voltmeters.
  • Receive comprehensive training in RF theory and troubleshooting techniques, utilizing available resources effectively.

Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct maintenance tasks and troubleshoot issues on live network systems while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Utilize tools for network troubleshooting, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation, including detailed notes and work order notations, to track maintenance activities effectively.

Equipment Deployment and Maintenance:

  • Install, provision, and maintain Proprietary BH radios according to installation guidelines and best practices.
  • Manage network cabinets, switching, routing, and fiber switches for effective site management.

Customer Interaction and Service:

  • Interact with WeLink customers in a professional manner during installations and maintenance activities, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing WeLink.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong interest and aptitude in networking and telecommunications.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures quickly.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations when required.
  • Must be willing to train for 4 weeks in our Las Vegas warehouse.
